Student Engagement at Corpus Christi 2026

From the Prep Classroom

At Corpus Christi and in our Prep classroom, we are continuing to build our understanding of Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL). This approach helps us teach and reinforce our school expectations, supporting students to develop positive behaviours, build strong relationships, and feel safe and confident at school.

In Prep, we have been focusing on learning how to speak and listen to others respectfully during both class time and play time. We practise this when we play maths games, take part in Think, Pair, Share, listen to stories, and when others are speaking. It’s been wonderful to see students growing in confidence as they learn to take turns, listen carefully, and share their ideas with others.

Wellbeing and the School Holidays

Dear Families,

As we head into the school holidays, it’s a great time to focus on wellbeing and enjoying quality time together as a family. Holidays provide valuable opportunities for children to rest, recharge, and connect with others in a relaxed environment.

Simple activities such as spending time outdoors, visiting local parks, playing games, reading together, or catching up with family and friends can have a big impact on children’s wellbeing. Keeping some gentle routines in place, such as regular sleep times, can also help children feel settled and ready to return to school.

It’s also important to be mindful of screen time over the holidays. Setting clear expectations, encouraging regular breaks, and balancing screen use with other activities can support healthy habits. For helpful advice and resources for families, you may wish to visit the eSafety Commissioner website, which provides practical tips on managing screen time and keeping children safe online.

Wishing everyone a wonderful Easter break and a happy and safe school holidays.

The weekly PBL rule is drawn from our Behaviour Matrix. Each week our children focus on a whole school rule that meets our five school expectations

            This week’s PBL focus is:

                   We are RESPECTFUL

                            (Play Time)

We are learning to speak respectfully to others.
