Thanks once again to our Parents and Friends who have organised another Fundraiser Special Treat Day. The Cheer Cheese Toastie Truck will be onsite at St John’s this Friday 29th May. As all items had to be preordered, we are unable to take any late orders. Any parents available to help on the day, please contact the office or a member of the Parents and Friends Committee.

We congratulate Mrs Carolyn Dillon on her recent appointment to a position at MacKillop College at the Year 9 St Mary's Campus, Werribee South. Carolyn will commence at MacKillop at the beginning of Term 3. Whilst we are sad to see Carolyn moving on, I would like to thank her for her positive contributions to St John’s over the past 3 years. In this time she had a massive impact on our students as well as other staff and student teachers who she has mentored. We hope that the next stage of your career is an exciting one.
This year the National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS) will take place tomorrow on Wednesday, 27 May at Midday. Nationwide the Australian Picture Story, Luna Roo: The Kangaroo Baller will be read simultaneously in schools, libraries, and homes. All students at St John’s will join in with the National Simultaneous Story Day to hear this year’s book which was written by Adam Jackson and Adrian Lloyd, and illustrated by Jake A. Minton.

On Monday 18th May 2026, our Year 4 students participated in an exciting science incursion called States of Matter. During the session, students investigated the changes that occur between solid and liquid matter when heat is added or removed through a range of engaging hands-on activities. Students particularly enjoyed making crystals and creating bouncy balls while exploring how materials can change their properties. The incursion was a fun and interactive way for students to deepen their understanding of science through experimentation and discovery.
National Reconciliation Week takes place from 27 May to 3 June. The official theme for 2026 is "All In", which serves as a call to action for all Australians to step away from the sidelines, wholeheartedly commit to reconciliation, and take everyday steps toward meaningful change. Below are some of the ways families can engage in National Reconciliation Week throughout the City of Wyndham.

At St John’s we partner with Inform and Empower to ensure we can monitor and track student’s online movements while they are onsite at school. The system alerts staff to students at risk of self-harm, depression, grooming, sexual content, bullying, school violence and other threats in real time. To support parents in navigating the ever changing online world we have our own Online Safety Parent Hub. At St John’s we believe parents need tools, support and education to take an active role in their child's digital development.
The Parent Hub provides a wealth of online safety resources - such as digital parenting guides, app reviews and articles, developed by a team of leading digital safety and wellbeing experts. Also families have access to free parental control tools to help keep children safe while using their personal devices.
As part of our school’s partnership with Linewize, we are able to provide our parents with parental controls via the Qustodio Parent App. Qustodio offers a range of features to help you engage with and support your child in their digital journey. Our school's partnership allows you to protect your child’s personal device, ensuring their protection extends beyond school-managed devices. Please see the steps below, which outline how to install Qustodio on your child’s device:
