New School Website

We are excited to have launched our new website, showcasing our school at its best.  This includes information, pictures and videos of our programs, facilities and students.  We're very proud of the work we do and how we showcase this to the wider school community and beyond.  We encourage you to to check it out;  https://croydonsds.vic.edu.au/

A big thank you to Justin (teacher) who has been instrumental in leading and designing our new website.  Thank you also to Peter V-W, (parent) for joining our planning meetings to assist our website development.  

2025 School Magazine

Our magazine committee have created another fabulous magazine that captures students engaging in school programs throughout 2025.  The magazine is full of photos of students completing learning tasks and having fun at school; the cover has been beautifully designed by our students.  Thank you to our magazine committee lead by Jess B. 

On Thursday 18 December, the 2025 school magazine will be sent home with 

student 2026 Transition Booklets.  We know students will enjoy reading these two documents over the school holidays.

Showcase and Shine

Once again, this years Showcase and Shine was a great school community evening.  It was lovely to see so many students, family members, friends and staff attend and enjoy looking at student work, participating in the activities, and chatting with one another.   

I'm sure those who attended the event would agree that the friendly and vibrant atmosphere assisted by our musician and signers, was positive and memorable Croydon SDS night. A big thank you to everyone who supported this event.  

Christmas Raffle

At the Showcase and Shine we acknowledged Leanne for her 8 years of volunteering in her role of coordinating our main fundraising events.  It was great to have Leanne present for her last Christmas Raffle, where 24 hampers were won.   Congratulations to the all of the raffle winners and thank you everyone who supported the raffle and purchased tickets.  The Christmas raffle raised $701; these funds will be put towards an upgrade of the sensory garden. 

Student Transition Sessions to 2026 Classes

Last Monday afternoon, students spent the last session of the day in their 2026 classroom getting to know their new room, staff and class peers.  

Students will have another session next Monday, 15 Dec, 2-3pm.  During this session, our 2026 Foundation students will join in. 

Graduation

Last Friday it was a great to have a special assembly to acknowledge and celebrate our students graduating from Primary this year.  Congratulations to Aakash, Eli, Isaac, Leo V and Eli.  We wish you all the best and for continued success in your secondary years of schooling. 

On Wednesday night, our graduating students, Declan, Deegan, Jamie, Sarah and Summer attended their graduation ceremony at Chirnside Park Country Club.  All graduates dressed up and proudly presented themselves at their special event.  Students spoke about their school highlights and where they are going post school.  Students made the most of the evening celebrating by dancing with family, friends and school staff.

Congratulations Declan, Deegan, Jamie, Sarah and Summer on many successful and memorable years at Croydon SDS, we wish you all the very best for your future.    

2026 Teachers

We are very close to confirming all staff placements for next year.  Next week we will communicate with families through a Compass post of  all teacher placements for 2026.
