As we move through another busy and rewarding week at Derinya Primary School, it has been wonderful to see our students embracing opportunities to learn, connect and grow.  

Parent Opinion Survey  

At Derinya we highly value the feedback of our families. The Department administer three important surveys each year to include the Attitudes to School Survey for Years 4-6 students, the Staff Opinion Survey and the Parent Opinion Survey. It would be helpful to have a broad range of responses that will influence the areas of priority as we continue to progress through 2026 and start to plan for next year. Parent Teacher Interviews 

Thank you to all families who were able to attend our parent teacher interviews this week. This was a fantastic opportunity to touch base with you to celebrate your child’s learning and growth. These touch points are invaluable and we appreciate you coming along to chat with your child’s teacher.  

Special events  

We look forward to our Year 6 Market Day to be held on Monday 31st August. The students have been working hard on their promotional skits and creating their products as part of their financial literacy unit. Please consider sending some cash along with your child for this event (preferably coins and small notes). Having a chat to your child about moderation would be appreciated. Teachers will also be monitoring this.  

Our special Book Week celebration is also set for next Friday 28th August. We will have a visit from local author Sheila Knaggs who will be visiting our Prep and Year 5 students along our much anticipated dress up and parade at next week’s assembly.
