From our Assistant Principal

Judith McDonald

We are already halfway through the term and Week 6 has been full of learning, connection, and positive energy across the school. It has been wonderful to see students engaging so enthusiastically in their classrooms and playground activities.

⭐ Highlights from the Week

  • Students have been demonstrating increasing focus and effort in their learning.
  • Classrooms are continuing to build positive routines and expectations.
  • It has been great to see students showing our school values through caring, sharing, doing their best and being safe.

📚 Learning Focus

This week, classes have been:

  • Building literacy skills through reading, writing, and discussion supported by using a range of communication tools.
  • Developing Maths concepts
  • Very excited to be back in our fabulous swimming pool for our swimming and hydrotherapy programs.
  • Exploring creativity, curiosity, and collaboration across learning areas

You can support your child's learning at home by reading to and with them and using maths concepts related to number, size and shape during every day activities and talking with your child about what they are learning each day.

📅 Important Dates & Reminders

  • Attendance matters – please ensure students arrive on time each day
  • Keep an eye on upcoming events. On Wednesday March 18th we have our Careers Expo from 3.45 to 6.30pm. Our Senior Secondary students have been supporting with the organisation of this afternoon. We have a range of services visiting who provide adult programs, further learning and employment opportunities for when our students leave school. We invite families and students to attend to see the displays and discuss these options. Even if your child is not leaving school yet, it can be helpful to consider and explore the opportunities which are available.

🤝 Working Together

It was great to see so many families attending our Student Support Group meetings last week. If you haven't yet had a meeting with your child's classroom teacher, it's not too late to make a time. We hope the parents/carers who did attend found the meeting informative and valuable including discussion about learning focus and goals for semester 1.  Following these meetings, teachers will finalise each child's goals and you will receive their Individual Education Plan document via Compass by the end of this term.

A big thank you to our families for your ongoing support. Strong partnerships between home and school make a real difference to student success and achievement of their individual learning goals.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact the school office or your child’s teacher.

🚗 Car Park Safety Reminder

The safety of our students, families, and staff is always our top priority. We kindly remind everyone to take extra care in the school car park, particularly during busy drop-off and pick-up times.

Please remember to:

  • Drive slowly and carefully at all times (no more than 5km/hour)
  • Be alert for children and pedestrians, who can be difficult to see
  • Use the designated crossing in our pick up/drop off car park
  • Follow all signage and staff directions. We have some new signs coming soon to our pick/up drop off zone.   From our Principal
  • Avoid using mobile phones while driving in the car park

We ask families to talk with children about car park safety and the importance of staying close to an adult at all times.

Thank you for working with us to keep our school community safe.
