We are looking forward to our 60th birthday celebration tomorrow,  Tuesday 14th November with Mass commencing at 9:30am.  We really encourage you to attend the mass and the morning tea that follows.  It's important for the students to see the parent and community support of the school.  Mass will be led by Fr Adi and Executive Director of Catholic Education Sandhurst, Mr Paul Desmond who will be present along with other CES staff. 

  • Please be seated in the church by 9:25am.  The students will sit in class groups and will be supervised by the teachers and support staff. 
  • Transition students for 2024 will remain in the classroom with Ms Whitehead and Ms Lockwood.  F-1 students will go to the church with other staff. 
  • Our morning tea will be in the Lacey centre from 10:30am - 11:30am. 
  • Students will recommence the normal timetable from 11:30am.  
  • Please ensure students are in the correct summer school uniform. 

Enrolments for 2024

Could all enrolment forms for 2024 be submitted to the office by Wednesday 15th November please.  This will assist us with planning for 2024. 

 

Festival of the Sacred 22/11/23 The Cube, Wodonga

Our 5/6 students have commenced practicing their songs to participate in the Festival of the Sacred on Wednesday 22nd of November at The Cube in Wodonga. 

We encourage parents to attend this event in Wodonga if possible.  Further information will be distributed through Ms Oliver's weekly updates. 

 

Literacy Update F-6

Over the remaining weeks of Term 4 your child’s classroom teacher will be introducing the 6 Traits of Writing to their students in preparation for 2024. Staff have been undertaking team professional learning activities during this term to improve the instruction of writing at Sacred Heart Corryong. The traits provide a language for describing the qualities that most readers and writers think are important in good writing.

You will receive a separate communication with more detail in relation to this curriculum initiative.

 

Helen Haines visits Sacred Heart 

Indi MP Helen Haines will visit Sacred Heart on Friday 24th November to present the school with new Australian, Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander flags at the assembly.  The assembly will be at 12:30pm.

 

End of Year Dates:

  • The students final day will be Friday 15th December.  
  • The final day will commence with the Graduation Mass at 10:00am  and the Year Six lunch will follow. Students will be dismissed at 3:10pm as normal. 
  • Staff will attend work the following week for professional learning activities and planning for 2024.
