Golden Square Students Excel at District Athletics

On Monday 14 September, a group of talented Golden Square Primary School students travelled to the Lar Birpa Athletics Complex to compete in the District Athletics Championships, taking on some of the best young athletes from schools across the Bendigo region.

Our students represented Golden Square with pride, determination and outstanding sportsmanship throughout the day. Whether competing on the track, in the field events, or cheering on their teammates, every student displayed a positive attitude and a commitment to doing their best. Their effort, resilience and willingness to challenge themselves were a credit to both themselves and our school community.

A standout performance came from Lola A, who claimed 1st place in the 11-Year-Old Girls Shot Put. Lola's impressive result has earned her a place at the Loddon Mallee Track and Field Finals on Monday 12 October, where she will proudly represent Golden Square Primary School and compete for the opportunity to progress to the State Track and Field Finals.

While we celebrate Lola's fantastic achievement, we are equally proud of all students who participated. Throughout the day, they demonstrated our school values of Safety, Respect and Learning by supporting one another, encouraging fellow competitors, listening to officials and coaches, and striving to improve with every event.

Congratulations to all of our athletes on their outstanding efforts. You represented Golden Square Primary School with distinction, and we wish Lola all the very best as she takes the next step in her athletics journey.
