Golden Square Students Represent with Pride at Divisional Basketball

On Wednesday 9 September, Golden Square Primary School proudly sent both a boys and girls team to compete in the Divisional Basketball Tournament, where students displayed outstanding teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the day.
The girls team competed strongly against quality opposition, recording an impressive win over Kangaroo Flat and battling hard in every game. The boys team enjoyed a successful day on the court, securing wins against Eaglehawk, Eaglehawk North and Violet Street, while also showing resilience against some strong basketball programs from across the region.
While the results were pleasing, what stood out most was the way our students represented Golden Square Primary School. Throughout the tournament, players consistently demonstrated our school values of Safety, Respect and Learning. Students competed fairly, encouraged their teammates, respected officials and opponents, and showed a willingness to listen, learn and improve with every game.
The day provided students with the opportunity to challenge themselves against high-quality competition while developing their basketball skills and confidence. Their positive attitudes, teamwork and perseverance were a credit to themselves, their families and our school community.
We congratulate all students who participated and thank them for the pride and enthusiasm they brought to the tournament. Regardless of the scoreboard, they represented Golden Square Primary School exceptionally well and should be proud of their achievements.
