Heads of Secondary Years' Report

To our wonderful Hazel Glen community,
On Monday, 16th of June, we had a wonderful whole Secondary Years Assembly around the theme of reconciliation, where we enjoyed a wonderful musical performance and heard from speakers from the College and a special guest.
Our Year 12 class of 2025 celebrated at their formal on Friday, 13th of June at Plenty Ranges Arts and Convention Centre. The students all looked amazing and had a lovely evening.
The past few weeks, our students have been busy finishing their Semester One assessments. All students who are studying a VCAA VCE and VET Unit 3 and 4 subject participated in the GAT on Monday, 16th June and all of our Year 10 and Year 11 students have now finished their Semester One exams.
Our Year 9 students have enjoyed their City Experience at the Melbourne Gaol over the past 2 weeks and proudly displayed their Personal Best projects last night. It was wonderful to welcome so many of our families along to this special night. Next week, some of our Year 9 students will enjoy Artvo and a visit to Hosier Lane and the remaining students will enjoy this experience early in Term 3.
Our Year 8s enjoyed visiting Kryal Castle on Thursday, 19th June as part of their Humanities studies and we welcomed our 2025 Year 6 students to Secondary Years for a tour on Wednesday, 18th June.
Early next Term, students in Years 8-11 will start the process of choosing their 2026 subjects. Please keep your eyes out for communication about due dates and resources to support students in making selections. The Year 10 students and their families are invited to the Pathways Evening on Thursday, 24th July.
We would like to remind all families that the Semester Two reports will be released on Thursday, 3rd July via Compass.
Have a great final week of term, a wonderful break, and we look forward to seeing everyone back after the holidays on Tuesday, 22nd July
