Visual Art - Ms Denise

Trinity students have been having a creatively charged and exciting term, exploring new techniques and bold ideas in every medium.

 

PREPS

Prep students have been continuing with paper craft and  learnt how to do paper weaving. This skill enables students to build their fine motor skills, enhance hand eye co-ordination and pattern recognition. Students will use their weaving mat as a blanket and create a collage art work.

YEAR 1/2

Year 1 & 2 have been focusing on the skill of threads & textiles. 

Students have been creating a woollen pom-pom and used a variety of materials including felt, pipe cleaners and google eyes to make a character of their choice. Some of the pom-pom characters the students are completing include animals, monsters and aliens.

YEAR 3/4

Year 3 & 4 have been working on a one point perspective drawing project and learnt to draw all the key features to create the optical illusion in this two dimensional art work. Students ruled the horizon and orthogonal lines and included the vanishing point in the centre of their artwork. Students chose between a city scene or a tree-lined street as the subject of their artwork.

YEAR 5/6

Year 5 & 6 have been learning about the history of Japanese anime and are able to identify the distinguishing features of this cartoon style art. The art project students are completing is an anime style self-portrait and they they can identify the position of the facial features and then practised drawing the exaggerated eyes portrayed in anime drawing and emulated the distinct hairstyles and simplistic noses and mouths evident in this type of Japanese art.
