📚 Book Week 2026 – Book an Adventure!
Book Week, celebrated in schools and communities, is a wonderful opportunity to highlight the importance of reading, literature and the joy that books can bring. This year’s theme, “Book an Adventure!”, encourages students to discover the transformative and enchanting power of books and the many adventures that can be found within their pages.
Books allow children to use their imagination, explore new worlds, meet interesting characters and experience different perspectives. Reading supports the development of language, vocabulary and comprehension while also encouraging curiosity, creativity and a lifelong love of learning. Through stories, children can travel to places they may never visit, experience different cultures and learn about the world around them.
We had a fantastic Book Week Dress-Up Day last Friday, with students and staff bringing their favourite book characters to life. It was wonderful to see the creativity and enthusiasm shown by everyone, with our school transformed into a colourful collection of much-loved characters from books and stories.
Throughout the week, students participated in a range of engaging Book Week activities, celebrating authors, illustrators, characters and stories. Our classrooms were filled with opportunities to read, share, create and explore, making Book Week a memorable celebration of the joy of books.
A big thank you to our families for supporting students with their wonderful costumes and to our staff for creating such engaging and exciting experiences. Book Week reminds us that every book is an invitation to go somewhere new, imagine something wonderful and embark on an adventure! 📖✨
