District and Interschool Sports
Our Albanvale Athletes have been representing our school with pride over the last two weeks.
District Athletics
On Thursday 13 August the winners from the Albanvale Athletics Carnival in Grade 3 - 6 took on the best of other schools in our region.

A big congratulations to Aryan K in Grade 4, who has qualified for the Regional Athletics in discus.
"My experiece at Interschool Sports was overall super entertaining. I was super nervous before I did my races but I overcame my fear of facing people head to head." - Collin
"My overall experience was amazing because I got to play and verse other schools. When I learned that I was doing 800m I felt scared but I pushed through." - Ryan
"When I got told I was in athletics I was a little nervous but then I had a try. I didn't get a place but at least I tried my hardest." - Isla
"When I first heard I was doing 800m I was soo scared and wanted to leave, but the support from my friends pushed me and I did it!" - Naiya
Interschool Basketball
Over the past four weeks forty Grade 5 and 6 students have spent their Thursdays after school practising, and in a lot of cases learning, basketball with the hopes of qualifying for the school team. The commitment each of these students showed by giving up their afternoons, and in a lot of cases continuing to practise during lunch time, was really special to see.
On Monday ten boys were selected to represent the school. Congratulations to Minh B, Phunsoep L, Ryan L, Collin L, Yonael M, Shadrach S, Meshach S, Lukas S, Andy T and Isi U who all represented the school for our first Interschool Basketball competition. The bos had a great time and showed a huge improvement throughout every game.
On Friday it was the girls turn to represent APS. Congratulations to Jenaaly B, Amal E, Rem H, Naiya K, Zatheinme K, Leah L, Ellena L, Mia N, Hannah S and Ruth S. All of the girls were so nervous before their first game...which they won so there was absolutely no need to be! The girls improved with every game and should be so proud of their massive efforts.
