Achieving Excellence Together

Dear Families,

Once again our Albanvale Primary School community has come together to celebrate LITFEST26.

Monday had the usual suspects attend Albanvale PS: Harry Potter, Spiderman, Elsa and a few Ronaldos. But we also had a few unexpected guests: Paddington Bear, the Lorax and Once-ler, some Wimpy Kids...even Dr

Ryland Grace (from Project Hail Mary).  I think Joey from Grade 2 (and his parents) deserve a special mention for his Steve from Minecraft costume. Needless to say, Joey wasn't able to wear it for the whole day, but his commitment to the outfit for the morning was very impressive.

The Reading Cafe on Wednesday morning was the place to be - even the weather which caused the last minute change of date followed us along. Thank you to all the families who braved the near-Arctic conditions to spend a morning reading with your children. Hopefully the coffee helped you to warm you up!  I loved seeing all of our student's work proudly displayed in the Writer's Gallery. To round out the morning we held our annual Albanvale PS Spelling Bee. It's nerve wracking getting up in front of over 400 people, let alone doing a live spelling test in front of them, yet our class champions thrived. A special congratulations to Joey (Prep -2) and Yonael (3-6) for taking out their categories.

This past fortnight has also been a time for sporting excellence at Albanvale Primary School. Over 35 students from Grades 3 to 6 competed in the District Athletics against schools our area. We are proud to let you know we had two students qualify for the Regional competition: Adam M from Grade 3 qualified in the 800m, and Aryan K from Grade 4 qualified for discus. On top of that we have had a boys and girls Basketball team compete this week, made up of students from Grade 5 and 6. All these students have shown real commitment by coming for training/trials after school in the lead up to the event. They should all be very proud of themselves.

Parent/Caregiver Opinion Survey

Thank you to all the families who have taken the time to fill out the annual Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey. This survey is offered by the Department of Education and is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of how families feel about the our school. Your opinions are important to us and contribute to identifying areas for improvement and professional development needed at the school. We encourage all families to take this opportunity to take the survey. If you haven't received an email link, please get in touch with the office and they will be able to provide you with the link.

Enrolments 2027 (all year levels)

With Prep enrolments for 2027 almost full, we are now accepting pre-enrolments of students across all other year levels in 2027. Very limited places are available in most year levels, so families are encouraged to submit a pre-enrolment as soon as possible to secure their place. If you know a family who you think would contribute to our community of excellence, encourage them to reach out today to find out more information or arrange a school tour.

Achieve Excellence, Together.
