Message from the Principal

Cecilia Parada

Dear families

I would love to hear from you!

In Term 2, we are inviting parents and carers to participate in the NSW Public Schools Parent Survey. The survey gives you the opportunity to share your experience at our school, including communication, inclusion, wellbeing and how your child’s learning is supported.

Hearing directly from our parents and carers will help us understand what’s working well and where improvements can be made. Participation in the survey is optional, your responses are anonymous, and it takes around 10 to 15 minutes to complete. You can access the survey in our newsletter here.

The survey is open until the end of Term 2.

Student acknowledgements

Congratulations to Gemma (Year 6) in being selected into the 2026 NSW Public Schools State Dance Company. This year, more than 180 students from across New South Wales auditioned for a place in the State Dance Company, making selection an outstanding achievement. Representation in these prestigious ensembles is equivalent to students representing at a state level in sport, recognising exceptional talent, dedication, discipline and commitment within the performing arts. Well done Gemma!

Congratulations to Thea and Josie (Year 6) on being selected to represent Meadowbank Public School in the Ryde Rotary Public Speaking Competition. Last week they competed in the Preliminary Round at Eastwood Heights Public School. This is a wonderful achievement, and we are proud of their hard work and commitment.

Zone Cross Country Carnival

Last week many of our students participated in the Zone Cross Country Carnival. I would like to congratulate all our competitors, and particularly wish Hazel all the best as she represents Ryde Zone at the Sydney North Cross Country Carnival.

Thank you to Mr Britton and Mr Thomson for organising our school’s carnival and then taking our finalists to Zone.

I would also like to thank our P&C and in particular Jess Ranginui for running the Zone BBQ.

Principal’s Morning Tea

I am excited to announce our upcoming Principal’s Morning Tea this week, a special event for students and their families, by invitation only. This Morning Tea celebrates students who have received the Principal's Award. To achieve this, students must earn 5 gold star awards, which are given after showing 10 Good Efforts each time.

Receiving the Principal’s Award is a fantastic achievement, and I look forward to recognising our hardworking students and sharing this moment with their loved ones.

Invitations have been sent home to the students who have earned this honour.

Congratulations to all our award winners!
