GPS Athletics Day
Mr. J
On Thursday, April 24th, Greenvale Primary School proudly held its annual Athletics Day across the School and Bradford Ovals. It was a fantastic day filled with energy, teamwork, determination, and school spirit as all Year 3–6 students participated in a variety of track and field events to earn points for their House.
Students competed in boys’ and girls’ divisions across the 9, 10, 11 and 12/13 age groups. Throughout the day, students challenged themselves in up to four events, including the 100m, 200m, 800m and 1500m races, along with field events such as Shot Put, Discus, Long Jump and Triple Jump.
Students who placed 1st or 2nd in their events qualified to represent Greenvale Primary School at the upcoming Greenvale District Athletics Carnival later in the year. We wish all qualifying students the very best of luck!
Special congratulations goes to Woodlands House for being recognised for their outstanding sportsmanship, teamwork and encouragement throughout the day. Their positive attitude and support for others truly reflected the values of our school community.
At the end of an exciting and competitive day, only one House could take home the title of Greenvale House Athletics Champions. Congratulations to Cumberland House for winning overall!
Thank you to all students, staff and families who helped make the day such a success. Most importantly, congratulations to every student who participated with enthusiasm and pride. It was wonderful to see so many students trying their best, supporting one another and enjoying a fantastic day together.
Here are some photos capturing the highlights of the day!
