Melbourne Legacy's Annual ANZAC Commemoration for Students - Year 6 Excursion

On Tuesday the 5th May, Year 6 students had the honour of attending the Legacy ANZAC Day commemoration service at the Shrine of Remembrance. This event is ran specifically for students, with over 100 different primary and secondary schools in attendance. During the visit, they took time to reflect on the sacrifices made by the brave men and women who have served our country. The ceremony featured addresses from honorary guests and dignitaries and included presentations and marches from Defence Force Cadets and as well as performances from school bands and choirs. We were so proud to see our Year 6 students participate in the service with respect and pride. 

After the service, students explored inside the Shrine, where they viewed artefacts from various armed conflicts, learned about the heroes and their stories and enjoyed the amazing views from the Shrine of Remembrance balcony. Overall, it was a terrific day with our Year 6 students being outstanding representatives of Greenvale Primary School.
