Religious Education & Pastoral Care

Mrs Trish Mitchell

Prayer

By your help, we beseech you, Lord our God, may we walk eagerly in that same charity with which, out of love for the world, your Son handed himself over to death. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.

Amen.

Your generous support can help change lives today - and For All Future Generations. THANK YOU for supporting the various events and fundraisers St Joseph's is hosting during Lent.

Please return your Project Compassion box during Week 10. A reminder will be sent out via Compass that week. Thank you for your donations as they are going to a valuable cause.

St Patrick's Day

There was a sea of green last Friday as we celebrated St Patrick's day. Thank you for your generous donations, green outfits and supporting our delicious pizza lunch! A special thank you to Mrs Westhorpe and Mrs Dewhurst for all of their work behind the scenes!

Who is St Patrick? Feast Day - 17th March

When Saint Patrick became a priest, he traveled back to Ireland as a missionary so that he could teach the people about God. He used examples to explain the mysteries of the faith in simple ways. Saint Patrick compared the Trinity to a shamrock. He said that the shamrock has three leaves, but it is only one plant. In the same way, God is three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—but one God.

The feast of St Joseph

Tomorrow, Tuesday the 19th of March, we celebrate the Feast Day of Saint Joseph. Joseph was the husband of Mary and the foster father of Jesus. A man of great compassion and great strength, Joseph strived to do the will of God, no matter what God asked of him. This feast is significant to us as our wonderful school is named after St Joseph. We pray...

Saint Joseph, You provided for Mary and Jesus in times both ordinary and extraordinary. Pray for the well-being of fathers and mothers as they tend to their children’s needs.

May they, like you, remain a steady presence in their homes and communities.

You dreamed of ways to respond to the mysterious work of God in your life.

Pray for all of us who strive to listen in prayer.

May we, like you, remain open in heart and mind to the stirring of the Holy Spirit.

We ask your intercession as you continue to provide inspiration and hope to those who, like you, place their trust in God.

Amen.
