Principals' Message

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome to another fabulous week at St Joseph's!  It's hard to believe we are only two weeks away from Easter. Last Friday we celebrated St Patrick's Day and the students and staff certainly got into the spirit of the day as they came to school dressed in a variety of green clothing and accessories.  Thank you to Mrs Mitchell for organising the day. All money will be donated to Caritas Australia, a Catholic organisation who are raising funds for people living in some of the most vulnerable communities across the world through their Lenten Appeal - Project Compassion.

St Joseph's Day

Tomorrow, we celebrate the Feast of St Joseph who is the patron saint of our school. Back in 1866, St Joseph was chosen by Mary MacKillop to name her order of Josephite sisters, and today, the Sisters of St Joseph continue to make a difference by reaching out to those in need. We are very fortunate to have our very own Sister of St Joseph, Sr Kathryn Sweeney, in our parish community. We wish her a very happy and blessed St Joseph's Day!

Saint Joseph was a just man, a tireless worker, the upright guardian of those entrusted to his care. May he always guard, protect and enlighten families. ~ Pope John Paul II

Every Day Counts

Education is important and regular attendance at school is essential for your child to achieve their educational best and increase their career and life options. When your child attends school every day, learning becomes easier as they are able to build on what was learned the day before. Just one day missed per fortnight equates to one whole year over a child's school life!

Arriving at school on time is also important. Classes start at 8:45am so students should arrive at least ten minutes prior to this to ensure they have time to put their bags away and greet their friends. Arriving after the bell disrupts the flow of the class, and important daily reminders and learning opportunities are missed.

Schools, in partnerships with families, are responsible for promoting the regular attendance of students and for ensuring that non-attendance is addressed effectively. Thank you for prioritising your children’s attendance at school and please do not hesitate to contact us if your require support in this area.
