Principal's Report

As Ms Haddow is on leave this week, I have the pleasure of writing this week's Principal’s Report.

Over the past fortnight, students have participated in a number of valuable learning opportunities. A highlight was the recent Mejada Beatty – Murri Island Girl incursion. Through storytelling and sharing her personal experiences, Mejada provided students with an engaging insight into Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and perspectives. We thank her for helping to enrich our students’ understanding and appreciation of Australia's First Nations peoples.

Students in Years 4–6 have also completed the annual Attitudes to School Survey. This important survey gives students the opportunity to share their views about their school experience, including areas such as wellbeing, engagement and connectedness. The data we receive assists us in identifying strengths and areas for improvement, helping us make informed decisions to support positive outcomes for all students.

Staff recently participated in a Curriculum Day, focusing on the analysis of both curriculum data and attendance data. This professional learning allows teachers to reflect on student achievement, identify trends and plan targeted strategies to ensure every student is supported to achieve success.

You may have noticed fencing appearing around parts of the school this week. This marks the beginning of our upcoming restoration works, which will include roofing upgrades and other improvements. While every effort will be made to minimise disruption, some classes and activities may need to be relocated temporarily while works are undertaken. We appreciate the patience and flexibility of our students, staff and families during this time. Restoration works at the school pool will also take place over the school holidays and will contribute to maintaining our facilities for years to come.
