Art Update

Grades 3 and 4 created landscapes inspired by First Nations Artists, Jo Wilson and Agnes Wotton. Each landscape artwork demonstrates the use of the art elements line, shape, colour and space. Students have applied contrasting colours and layered cardboard to define the foreground, middle ground and background, creating visually engaging and eye-catching compositions.

Grade 5 Celebration of Learning

The Grade 5s have been exploring Australia and other countries in the Asia-Pacific region this term. They have created nets of the earth and moved our Inquiry learning into Maths and Writing.

Whilst exploring the different types of climate zones such as Tropical, Temperate and Arid, students chose their own countries to look at to understand the different weather patterns in each country. With the use of line graphs, students mapped the average temperatures in these areas. They also added to these graphs, with column graphs representing the amount of rain in the chosen country.

They then moved on to information reports, exploring the cultures and First Nations people of their countries. They discovered countries that had been colonised, explored traditions and customs that spanned from food to religion and clothing types.

On Friday 12 June, the Grade 5s then invited their families in to look at their posters and presentations. They were excited to share their writing and studies with family and friends.
