Library News!
What an exciting term it has been in the library! Throughout the term, students have enjoyed exploring a variety of themes that have sparked curiosity, imagination, and a love of reading.
We began our journey as Nature Explorers, discovering stories about animals, plants, habitats, and the wonders of the natural world. From there, we travelled back in time with Knights, Castles and Fairytales, where brave heroes, magical creatures, and enchanting adventures captured students' imaginations.
Our reading adventures then took us beyond Earth with Blast Off with Books, exploring space-themed stories and fascinating facts about our solar system and beyond. During National Reconciliation Week, students engaged with stories that celebrated Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures, and perspectives, helping us reflect on the importance of respect, understanding, and connection.
We rounded off the term with Foodie Fiction, enjoying books filled with delicious adventures, family traditions, and cultural celebrations through food. To finish the term, students have been encouraged to take charge of their own reading journey through You Choose, You Explore, selecting books that inspire their interests, creativity, and curiosity.
A special thank you goes to our wonderful Library Helpers:
Harvey, Mollie, Stepan, Izzy, Nick, Shepard, Ayan
They worked hard throughout the term to keep our library organised and welcoming. From shelving books and tidying displays to helping younger students find books, their enthusiasm and commitment have made a valuable contribution to our library community.
Congratulations to FHK, who currently hold the record for the highest number of library borrows for the year so far with a whopping 598 borrows! This is a fantastic achievement! We can't wait to see which class will top the borrowing charts by the end of the year.
We look forward to many more reading adventures next term!
