A Message from the
Principal
Mrs Carolyn Parsell
Dear Parents and Carers,
It is wonderful to be back after my time at home with my grandchildren. I have a renewed appreciation for the work that goes into getting little people out the door each morning. Thank-you to all for a very warm welcome on my return.
The P&F Annual General meeting was held on Wednesday morning with parents attending in person and via Zoom. We celebrated the successes of the year and reflected on the many fabulous celebrations in our 100 Years of Education at St Martha's. This centenary year has brought many blessings and we have enjoyed a range of unique and special celebrations. From our Art Show, to our Feast Day, our Open Day, Colour Fun Run and our Gala Dinner, every occasion has allowed us to come together as a community and celebrate all the things that make St Martha's a great place to grow and learn.
My thanks for all the work of the P&F commmittee and the many parent volunteers, who have assisted in so many gatherings and fundraising events.
At the AGM Helen Boutros was re-elected as President and Claudia Watts was re-elected as Vice President. James Nguyen, Sabrina Can and Fiona Hollingsworth remain on the committee. We are still seeking a Secretary and Assistant Secretary to join the committee and welcome self nominations. Please speak to the office or a member of the P&F Team, if you are willing to help.
Kindergarten 2026 had their large group orientation session last week. It was lovely to be able to welcome so many lovely new and returning families. The day was filled with joy and anticipation and the children looked fabulous in their St Martha's t-shirts.
It was announced today that Mr Steven Belcastro will take on the role of Acting Principal during my leave in Terms 1 and 2 2026. We congratulate Mr Belcastro on his appointment and thank him for the wonderful care he takes of the school every day. Please see below the letter sent from Sydney Catholic Schools Executive Director Mrs Danielle Cronin.
We will not be going on our picnic tomorrow as the rain forecast is not favourable.
To keep the children safe we will have a fun day at school. Parents are welcome to visit classrooms from 12midday with the opportunity to eat lunch with the children. Parents who were planning to take their children from the park at 1:30 can still take their children early if they wish.
Please keep Sunday 7th December in your calendar for our Family Mass. There will be a lovely morning tea after Mass and Mrs Danielle Cronin Executive Director of Sydney Catholic Schools will be attending. Please see the RE page for the invitation.
Peace and Best Wishes
Carolyn Parsell
