A Message from the Assistant Principal

Mr Steven Belcastro

Dear Parents and Carers,

I am excited to be taking on the role of Acting Principal for the first half of next year while Mrs Parsell is on leave and continuing to lead in this wonderful community. I thank you for your continued support and partnership in ensuring the best for the students at St. Martha's.

Swimming

A reminder that swimming lessons begin on Monday. Please ensure that your child has a small bag / library bag containing:

  • Swimsuit- girls to wear a one piece swimsuit
  • Thongs or sandals
  • A spare t-shirt to wear to and from the pool
  • A plastic bag for wet items
  • Goggles
  • A towel
  • Underwear to wear on their return to school
  • Rash vest & swim cap (optional)

Students will be departing for the pools wearing their swimsuits, a t-shirt over the top of their swimsuit and a towel wrapped around them. They will also be wearing their goggles and thongs / sandals. Students will not be taking any bags, uniforms or food to the pools.

PLEASE ENSURE ALL ITEMS (INCLUDING SHOES) ARE LABELLED WITH YOUR CHILD’S NAME.

Reports

The teachers have begun the process of writing End of Year Reports. The grades and comments are based on many aspects of your child’s work in class, formal and informal assessments, observations, and work samples. Reports will be available to download through Compass on Friday 12th December.

School Expectations

As we approach the end of the school year, it is important that we remind the students to be 3 things - that is, to be Safe, Respectful and Responsible. We encourage you to use these 3 expectations at home also when discussing behaviours with your children.

We also remind all students that wearing our school hat is part of our uniform. Students who do not have their hats will be asked to engage in passive play in a shaded area.

Online briefing for parents - changes to social media for under-16s

Sally Sitou MP, Federal Member for Reid will be hosting an online briefing for local parents regarding the new ‘social media delay’ for under-16s coming into effect in December.
