We celebrated a beautiful Family Mass on Saturday 16th August 2025, with Fr Pat as Celebrant who perfectly explained the meaning of the Gospel during the Homily. Even the parents took something away. Following mass we enjoyed pizzas and some supper in the Undercroft. A special thank you to all parents and students who volunteered to participate in the mass. Our final Family Mass for 2025 will be on Saturday 25th October 2025 at 5:30pm. This mass will also be the Reconciliation Commitment Mass for our Year 3 students who will receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation in term 4.
Sunday 24th August 2025
So grateful the sun was shining and we had a full team again for our latest Sydney Vinnies Brekky Van service on Sunday 24th August 2025. Thank you to the mostly StMM team this last week. Always such rewarding work. If you are discerning about whether this could be something for you, please reach out to either myself or one of the other StMM parents who volunteer. Our last two Brekky Vans are in November and December 2025 so plenty of time to complete all the required documentation.
Thank you to all the families who have volunteered to complete a card and provide chocolates for the 2025 HSC Graduation Prayer packs for the class at Brigidine. These will be packaged this week and delivered to Brigidine.
Thank You to the parents who have assisted over the last few weeks to make the keyrings that will be sold at this year's Father's Day stall. There are plenty of footy codes and colours available. Keyrings will be sold for $6 each. Proceeds from keyring sales will go towards our outreach projects.
It’s that time of year again for our Father/ Carer and child paper plane making and throwing competition. This will take place before the Father’s Day Liturgy next Thursday 4th September 2025 on the school grounds.
Last week we celebrated Book Week. As per tradition, I have curated a list of 8 books that come highly recommended. Check them out on the link Family & Faith Book Week 2025.
- In Cinemas 4th September 2025
Light of the World launches in Australian cinemas on 4th September 2025. This animated recount, tells the story of Jesus through the eyes of the youngest apostle. Might be a good option to take the children on one of the up coming Staff Development Days. Watch the trailer here - Light of the World.
I will lead a Guided Christian Meditation at Coogee Beach on Thursday 11th September 2025 starting at 9:30am. All parents welcome to attend. Save the date and refer to the flyer for more details… and pray for no rain!
If you are anything like me, you may have an extensive collection of ‘Holy Clutter’. An array of damaged Rosary Beads, an accidently beheaded Saint statue or worn out prayer cards. As Catholics, of course we cannot simply relocate these items to the ‘R’ file. There is a way, however, to respectfully dispose of them. Check out the article on Catholic Family Holy Clutter Burial Ceremony, for all the answers.
Go gently, every blessing
