Health & Wellbeing

Congratulations to our Division Athletics Athletes

Last week, our students proudly represented the school at the Maroondah/Manningham Division Athletics Carnival, giving it their all across a range of track and field events. Their determination was truly inspiring, with many achieving personal bests and cheering each other on throughout the day. The school is incredibly impressed with the effort and enthusiasm shown by every participant—well done to all who took part and good luck to the students and team progressing to the Eastern Metropolitan Region Athletics Championships next week

Congratulations Asher!

We’re incredibly proud of Asher, who recently showcased her equestrian talents on the national stage! She travelled to Sydney to represent both our school and the state of Victoria at the 2025 Australian Interschool Equestrian Championship. With her horse Bob (Kooralyn Marley), Asher achieved amazing results—1st in the ridden phase, 2nd in the led phase, and 9th in the rider phase, placing her 4th overall in the Primary Working Hunter combination. In the second week, Asher and Bob competed at the Royal Melbourne Show, where they placed 2nd in the Child's Large Show Hunter pony class among 19 of Australia’s top ponies. This fantastic result has earned Asher a national spot at the SHC Grand National competition in 2026. Congratulations, Asher and Bob—we’re cheering you on every step of the way!

Congratulations, Will & Jesse!

Congratulations to Jesse and Will, who have been accepted into the reputable AFL V Squad Junior Football Academy! Nominated through SSV and their domestic football coach, this is a wonderful recognition of their dedication—both boys have been training hard in their own time for the past eight months. They’ve already completed their first two-day session at “The Hangar,” home of the Essendon Football Club, and couldn’t be more excited. The V Squad Academy is a two-year program that supports talented U12–U14 footballers with elite-level training, personal development, and mentoring. What an incredible opportunity—well done, boys!

From the National Tennis Championships

We are proud to celebrate the outstanding achievement of age 9, Shawn Lyu, who has been crowned both Singles and Doubles Champion at the 2025 Australian 10/U Green Ball National Championships held in Adelaide in September.

Competing against the nation’s top 10-and-under players, Shawn demonstrated exceptional skill, determination, and composure throughout the five-day event at Henley South Tennis Club. After finishing the round-robin stage unbeaten, he advanced through to the finals where he captured the Boys’ Singles title, and later partnered with his teammate to secure victory in the Boys’ Doubles event.

This inaugural national tournament, organised by Tennis Australia, brought together the best young talents from every state and territory. It represents an important milestone in the country’s Green Ball development pathway, bridging the transition between Orange Ball competition and full yellow ball tournaments. Shawn’s success reflects not only his personal dedication and love for tennis but also the supportive environment fostered by his family, coaches, and the broader Ringwood North Primary community. Following his victory, Shawn expressed his gratitude to his coaches and family for their encouragement and support throughout his tennis journey. Congratulations, Shawn, on this remarkable accomplishment — a wonderful example of perseverance, passion, and pride!
