What Does a Speech Pathologist Do?

A speech pathologist helps children develop the skills they need to communicate, understand and participate confidently at home and at school. They can support children with speech sounds, language development, vocabulary, understanding instructions, telling stories, social communication, reading and writing skills, and communication confidence.

Speech pathologists can also help children who have difficulty with eating, drinking or swallowing.

Here's some more information from The Local about speech pathologists and their role, when you might need the support of one and what to expect from a session.
