FAITH MATTERS

MRS ALISON WRIGHT - DIRECTOR OF FAITH & MISSION

As we reach the final day of Term 3, it is a fitting moment to pause, look back, and express gratitude for all that we have shared as a community. This term has been filled with learning, growth, and connection. From the classroom to the stage, the sports field to the chapel, our students and staff have worked together with energy and purpose. We have celebrated achievements, faced challenges, and discovered once again the strength that comes from supporting one another.

One of the highlights of this week was our Year 11 Reflection Day on Wednesday. Centered on the theme of Leadership, students explored what it means to lead with humility, courage, and compassion. Using Jesus and St Mary of the Cross MacKillop as guiding examples, the day encouraged our Year 11s to see leadership not as power or position, but as service to others. Through activities, discussions, and prayer, they reflected on how servant leadership can shape not only their senior school years but also their lives beyond the College. It was inspiring to see their openness and willingness to consider how they can lead with faith and integrity.

As we close Term 3, we carry forward gratitude for the blessings of these past months and the lessons we have learnt together. May the holiday break bring rest, renewal, and joy to all in our school community. We look forward with hope and anticipation to the final term of the year, ready to continue walking in the spirit of Mary MacKillop: “Never see a need without doing something about it.”

Prayer for the End of Term

Loving God, we thank You for the many blessings of this term – for the learning, laughter, and friendships we have shared. Bless our students, families, and staff as we enter this holiday time. Grant us rest and renewal, keep us safe in Your care, and inspire us to return in Term 4 with hope, courage, and generosity of spirit. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Jesus light of the world, guide us

St Joseph, journey with us

St Mary of the Cross MacKillop, pray for us
