MONEY MARKETS - MARKET
MRS FIONA MCGOVERN - HUMANITIES TEACHER
On Wednesday the 3rd of September, Year 9 and 10 students from Money Markets and Citizenship classes transformed the school into a bustling marketplace. The students, eager to put their entrepreneurial skills to the test, set up their own small businesses, offering a delectable variety of treats. Some of the delicious treats on offer were tornadoes, burgers and sushi and for the sweet tooth cookie dough, pancakes and donuts to name a few.
The Market was more than just a fun event. It provided the students with a valuable opportunity to learn the joys and challenges to running their own business. The students gained first-hand experience in all aspects of entrepreneurship: sourcing, production, marketing and customer service.
The event was a huge success, with students and staff alike lining up to sample the delicious food and drinks on offer. The market also fostered a sense of community and camaraderie among the students, as they worked together to make their businesses a success. To top it off the students are donating all profits, over $700 to local charities.
A big thank you and well done to all the students who participated in Market Day and to all the staff who helped on the day. A huge thank you to Mel who is always working behind the scenes and without her guidance and support the day would not happen.
