As we reach the conclusion of Term 1, I would like to take a moment to acknowledge the efforts of our students, staff and families over what has been a productive and positive start to the school year.
Term 1 is always a time of establishing routines, building relationships and setting high expectations for learning. It has been wonderful to see students across all year levels settling into their classes, engaging with enthusiasm, and demonstrating our school values in their learning and interactions. From our youngest learners beginning their school journey, to our senior students taking responsibility and leadership in their studies, there is much to celebrate.
I would like to particularly commend our staff for their commitment to providing high-quality learning experiences and strong pastoral care. Their dedication ensures that our school remains a safe, inclusive and supportive environment where every student is encouraged to grow academically, socially and emotionally.
Throughout the term, students have participated in a wide range of curricular and extra-curricular activities, excursions, sporting events and community initiatives. These opportunities play an important role in developing confidence, collaboration, creativity and resilience, and we thank staff and families for their ongoing support in making these experiences possible. Students have competed in Athletics carnivals, played tennis, swam, hiked mountains, participated in beach activities, enjoyed camps, visited the Burnie Supreme Court, sat NAPLAN assessments, raised money for the Cancer Council and participated in Relay for Life, honoured our high achieving students at our EA Assembly and celebrated Jesus' life, death and resurrection at our Easter Service.
As we approach the holiday break, I encourage students and staff to take time to rest, recharge and enjoy time with family and friends.
Thank you to our parents and carers for your continued partnership with the school. Open communication, shared expectations and mutual support make a significant difference to student success. We look forward to building on this strong foundation as the year progresses.
I wish everyone a safe and enjoyable holiday and look forward to welcoming students back for the start of Term 2
