Celebrating the growth in our wonderful children on each learning level...
Prep has had an exciting start to the term with our new Perceptual Motor Program (PMP). This is a structured movement-based program designed to develop coordination, balance and spatial awareness through guided physical activities. We have practiced crawling through obstacles, throwing beanbags into hula hoops, jumping on a hopper and our pencil rolls. The Prep students have loved these sessions and have shown incredible levels of determination and resilience when things are challenging. These lessons have quickly become everyone's favourite part of the week, seeing nothing but smiles and laughter!

Year 1 has had a fantastic start to Term 4! In Science, we are learning all about simple machines and exploring how forces work in everyday life. Students have done a wonderful job constructing their own ramps and catapults to investigate the forces of push and pull in action. It has been exciting to see their creativity, curiosity and enthusiasm as they experiment, test their ideas and learn through hands on activities. We look forward to another fun filled term of learning and discovery!

Our Year 2 students have been working hard practising the song and dance Coming Home in preparation for their assembly performance.
It was wonderful to see their enthusiasm, growing confidence and teamwork as they learnt the lyrics, mastered the movements and brought the performance together.
The children showed fantastic commitment, supporting and encouraging one another throughout rehearsals.
We are so proud of their efforts and the confidence they demonstrated in sharing their learning with the school community.
Well done, Year 2!
Our Year 3 students have been very excited to learn their new AR range and target. They completed their STAR Reading Assessment to obtain their range and had a discussion with their teacher to decide on their target together. Our students are now excited to read new books in their range and to gain a strong understanding of the books they read to strive for 100% in their quizzes. We wish our Year 3 students all the best with reaching their targets for the final time this year.

Year 4 students have been working hard to develop their long division skills in Maths this week. They have been building their understanding of key mathematical vocabulary, including dividend, divisor and quotient, while learning to divide two-digit and three-digit numbers by a one-digit number.
Students have been using their times-table knowledge to help them work out how many times the divisor fits into the dividend. They have also been using the inverse relationship between multiplication and division to check their answers. For example, if 24 ÷ 4 = 6, they can check their answer by calculating 6 × 4 = 24. They have then extended these strategies to division problems with remainders, learning to identify what is left over when a number cannot be divided equally. We are so proud of their focus, perseverance and growing confidence as they take on this challenging new learning!
Our Year 5 students have returned to Term 4 full of energy and enthusiasm, and we have been so impressed with how smoothly they have transitioned from holiday mode back into learning! They have quickly settled back into familiar routines and demonstrated a fantastic attitude towards their learning. There is a wonderful energy amongst the group as they embrace their final term of Grade 5, and we look forward to seeing them finish the year strong as they prepare to step up into their final year of primary school at SMPS!
Year 6 students have begun their Term 4 unit, Guide to Thrive. This unit focuses on preparing students for the transition to secondary school and supports them to create a Personal Transition Profile to share with their secondary school. So far, we have learned about:
Students have been highly engaged in this topic and are asking many questions to increase their confidence in making this transition. We encourage families to continue these conversations at home.
