Principals Message

Dear families,

As we come toward the Term 2 holidays, I feel a sense of pride and achievement for what we have achieved at St Mary’s so far this year as in the last term especially.

We have embedded a completely new learning and teaching program for literacy and numeracy across the school. InitiaLit and Ochre Education are low variance educational resources designed to support our teachers to effectively implement evidence-based practices. This has been consolidated through the implementation of MiniLit Sage and MacqLit literacy interventions to ensure that no gaps remain in student learning.

 Kate Stewart

Tomorrow, we farewell Kate Stewart as she finishes up with us at St Mary’s. Kate has been at the school for 9 and a half years in her role as an Education Support Officer. Kate’s bubbly personality and care toward the students and their learning has made her a wonderful asset to our school, the students and our staff. We wish Kate the very best and hope to see her around at some of our school events. Thank you for all that you have given to the St Mary’s school community Kate, you will be missed.

Winter bugs and illness

As we now move into Winter, we are beginning to witness greater instances of common illnesses. To ensure that we keep our community healthy, we ask that if you notice any symptoms including; fever, vomiting, or diarrhoea, please keep them at home until they have fully recovered. Please see the recommended exclusion period for common illnesses.

Once again, I thank you for your ongoing support and commitment to our school. Please do not hesitate to come and see me or email if you have any questions or concerns.

I wish you all a safe and happy school holidays and look forward to another busy term next term.
