This 4-week course with TAFE is a pathway to a paid bricklaying apprenticeship, and opportunities for further training in the building industry.

NETTS WA 2026 Apprenticeship Applications are Open for 2026

The National Energy Technician Training Scheme is run by Programmed in WA. It is a Group Training Organisation that trains apprentices and trainees for the oil and gas industry.

It is currently recruiting for the 2026 intake. Check out opportunities HERE.

Construction Apprenticeships Get MORE Funding

The State Government has committed $21.9 to fund more fee free building and construction courses. 

The following building and construction courses will be fee-free from 2026:

  • Certificate III in Plumbing;
  • Certificate III in Wall and Ceiling Lining;
  • Certificate III in Bricklaying and Blocklaying;
  • Certificate III in Solid Plastering;
  • Certificate III in Civil Construction;
  • Certificate II in Construction; and
  • Certificate II in Construction Pathways.

Many employers pay the fees for their apprentices so this initiative will be welcomed by building companies.

Key Apprenticeship Program - More money for construction apprentices

This program will provide eligible apprentices in priority construction occupations with up to $10,000 in incentive payments at 6, 12, 24, 36 months and on completion of their apprenticeship.

Ask your Apprentice Connect services provider to help you to apply for this money. 

Increased Living Away from Home Allowance for Apprentices

This allowance will increase to help apprentices meet the costs associated with moving to take up an apprenticeship.

  • 1st Year from $77.17 to $120.00 per week
  • 2nd Year from $38.59 to $90.00 per week
  • 3rd Year from $25.00 to $45.00 per week

1 July Pinnacles Foundation Scholarship Open for 2026

Value $8,400 

You need to be 18 on 20 January 2026, undertaking fulltime studies at a public tertiary institution (including TAFE or university) and identify as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community.

We provide educational scholarships, mentoring and opportunities for young LGBTQIA+ Australians to realise their full potential. Scholarships are awarded for fulltime study at public institutions of higher education in Australia, for the purpose of gaining an educational or vocational qualification in any profession, trade or the arts.
