Delahey Senior Campus: Inspiring Growth, Aspiration and Achievement

A new school year brings with it a powerful sense of possibility, a time for fresh beginnings, renewed determination and exciting opportunities. It is with great pride and enthusiasm that we warmly welcome all students and parents/carers to the Delahey Senior Campus of Copperfield College for what promises to be a dynamic and rewarding year ahead. We hope families have enjoyed a relaxing and well-earned summer break, and that our students return refreshed, motivated and ready to embrace the challenges, growth and achievements that await them.
The opening weeks of the year are characterised by energy and purpose. We are delighted to welcome new students and families into our community, while our returning students step forward with confidence into the next phase of their educational journey. For those undertaking the rigours of VCE and VCE VM studies, this represents a pivotal and defining year, one that will challenge, shape and prepare them for future pathways.
With student leadership initiatives, camps, sporting programs and a broad range of co-curricular opportunities already in progress, the campus is alive with momentum as students establish positive routines, strengthen relationships and immerse themselves in the rhythm of senior school life.
Guided by our commitment to “Empowering Every Student to Aspire and Achieve,” we remain steadfast in fostering a supportive, inclusive and aspirational learning environment in which every student is encouraged to pursue excellence and realise their full potential. Our school values, Respect, Responsibility, Relationships and Excellence (RRRE), are central to everything we do. They underpin our expectations, shape our culture and guide the way we learn, lead and support one another each day.
Welcome to New Staff
We are honoured to welcome both new and returning staff to the Delahey Campus, along with many staff travelling from the junior campuses. Their expertise, passion, and commitment are vital to the ongoing excellence of our community. We are confident that their contributions will foster lasting growth and make a significant impact on our community.

A Stellar Start: Year 12 at Feathertop Chalet Camp

The 2026 Year 12 cohort began their academic year with exceptional energy, enthusiasm, and a spirit of excellence at the Feathertop Chalet Camp.
Throughout the program, students exemplified leadership, maturity, and camaraderie, engaging wholeheartedly in every activity. From spirited trivia and karaoke sessions hosted by the College Student Leadership Team to carefully structured study workshops designed to prepare them for the year ahead, the cohort embraced both recreation and purpose with equal commitment.

Beyond the structured program, the camp offered profound opportunities for reflection, personal growth, and meaningful connection. These experiences strengthened the bonds within the cohort and cultivated memories that will endure well beyond their final year.
We commend our Year 12 students for their exemplary conduct and extend our deepest gratitude to the staff, whose guidance, dedication, and unwavering support ensured the camp’s resounding success.

Celebrating the Academic Excellence of the Class of 2025
It is with great pride that we acknowledge the exceptional achievements of our 2025 VCE cohort. Their dedication, perseverance, and commitment to academic excellence have resulted in outcomes that reflect both personal diligence and the high standards of our school community.
Academic Achievements:
The Class of 2025 exemplifies the diversity of pathways that contemporary education affords. Students are progressing into a wide array of opportunities, including tertiary study, vocational training, gap year experiences, and direct workforce entry. This variety underscores that there is no singular route to personal or professional success.
We are especially pleased to note that many students have secured first-preference or highly sought-after placements in tertiary institutions, across disciplines such as Business, Arts, Engineering, Nursing, Science, and more. These achievements stand as a testament to the students’ commitment, resilience, and pursuit of excellence.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the Class of 2025. We celebrate their remarkable achievements and eagerly anticipate their continued success as they embark on the next chapters of their educational and professional journeys.
Senior Information Evening: Informing, Inspiring, Connecting

We extend our sincere appreciation to all staff who contributed to the success of the Senior Information Evening, with special recognition to the Student Leadership Team for their outstanding efforts. The evening provided families with comprehensive information regarding VCAA requirements, assessment expectations, and Careers Pathways, while also offering an opportunity for staff and families to connect over light refreshments. We also express our gratitude to Ali Agha (Year 12, 2025) for his motivational address, which served as a genuine source of inspiration for all attendees.
Breaking Barriers: Ali Agha’s Journey with Western Chances
On International Day of Education, we celebrated the transformative power of learning, which drives peace, progress, and development. This year’s theme, highlighting young people as agents of change, perfectly encapsulated the inspiring journey of Ali Agha.
Arriving in Australia nearly two years ago as a refugee from Afghanistan, Ali faced significant language barriers when he started Year 10. Despite these challenges, his dream of becoming a doctor remained unwavering, fuelled by his experience with the limited healthcare services in Afghanistan.

Ali’s journey serves as a powerful reminder that education does more than open doors, it changes lives. His hard work and determination led to an incredible ATAR of 93.1, and he received a double degree offer from the University of Melbourne for a Bachelor of Science and Master of Engineering.
In addition to his academic success, Ali was awarded a full residential scholarship to Trinity College, valued at $45,628, the largest scholarship ever granted to a Western Chances recipient. He also received the Dafydd Lewis Trust Scholarship, worth $10,000 per year for three years, to support him throughout his undergraduate studies.
We extend our immense gratitude to Western Chances for their recognition and for providing Ali with life-changing opportunities. Their support has played a crucial role in shaping his journey, helping him overcome barriers and reach his full potential.
Ali’s story is a testament to the power of education to empower young people and create lasting change. As we reflected on International Day of Education, we celebrate Ali and all the young changemakers who, with the right support, will go on to transform their communities and the world.
