The 1st Reservoir Scout group is running a raffle to raise money to help local Scouts attend the Australian Jamboree in 2028. The group has been part of the local community since 1948, originally established as the 5th Preston “Reservoir” Group with support from local families, councillors and William Ruthven. A volunteer-run, not-for-profit youth community group, it brings together children and families from across Reservoir, Preston and surrounding neighbourhoods with activities that complement school life by encouraging leadership, practical learning, community service and respect for others.
Attending Jamboree is a significant financial commitment for families, and fundraising aims to make it more accessible for Scouts. Buying a raffle ticket via the QR code is a way our school community can support the group and its work with local young people.

Join Darebin City Brass for an annual cabaret event at Preston Town Hall, this year featuring the Carnival of the Animals by the Youth Training Band, and a special 20th Anniversary celebration of Northern Brass!
Established in 2016 as a stepping stone between Jack's Juniors music education program and the A grade Preston Band, Northern Brass quickly established itself as a strong community band which this year celebrates two decades going strong.
Bring a bite to share with friends, enjoy drinks from the bar, buy a raffle ticket or 20 and relax and enjoy the dulcet tones of our brass bands for an evening of live music!

Darebin City Brass is also looking for brass or percussion music students who may be finishing school to continue playing and enjoying their music.
If you are in Year 12 and want to keep playing your trumpet, cornet, horn, baritone, euphonium or tuba after high school, get in touch. The Youth Training Band can also help organise instrumnt hire.
Rehearsals are held every Thursday from 6pm to 7pm in Preston.
