Principal’s Newsletter – Week Four

Welcome to Week Four!

The past fortnight has been busy with cooking, learning, and getting to know our new families and students. We are excited about our upcoming Welcome BBQ, which will be a wonderful opportunity to meet and mingle with our local community and connect with everyone at school.

We would like to extend a warm welcome to two new students, Brody and Tyler, who have attended our school before. They have settled in beautifully – it feels like they never left!

It is with regret that we inform our school community that Miss Child has needed to unexpectedly take personal leave for the remainder of the year. Mr Weppner is filling in until we secure a replacement teacher, which we aim to have in place within the next week.

A final call to families for our weekly cooking sessions, running for four weeks. Thank you to those families who have already expressed interest – your spot is now secure. We still have a few vacant spots available, so it’s first in, best dressed.

School Council Nominations

Nomination forms have gone home for School Council. If you’ve ever thought about joining, now is your chance! We currently have two vacant parent positions. Being part of School Council is a fantastic way to have a say in the direction of the school, support programs, and connect with our community. For more information, please call or visit the office.

This week, we also held our first Hostel session for 2026. Can you believe our connection with the local hostel has been running for over 20 years? To celebrate, we are planning a special event later in the year – more details to come!

We will be running Junior School Council elections soon. It’s wonderful to see so many of our Grade 6 students putting their hands up and taking on leadership roles across the school.

Finally, a friendly reminder to all families, staff, and students to use the school crossing when the flags are out. This is very important for safety and helps us ensure everyone can get to and from school safely.
