P&C News

A Farewell Message

As my time as your P&C Secretary comes to a close, I wanted to share one final update and take a moment to look back at what has been an incredibly full, challenging, and ultimately rewarding chapter for our school community.

Welcoming Our New Executive Members

I am thrilled to share that two parents have stepped into vital executive roles this week:

  • President: Mitchell Page
  • VP for OSHC: Kirstin Isaacs

We are all incredibly grateful for their commitment. Their willingness to step into these roles ensures the P&C can continue to function. Without them, we would have entered caretaker mode, which would have meant significant and disruptive changes to the operations of our tuckshop, uniform shop, and OSHC.

A Call to Action: They Can't Do It Alone!

While we are in a safe position for now, I urge our community to rally around Mitchell and Kirstin. Two people simply cannot carry the entire load of the P&C, particularly managing the requirements around OSHC, and they need your help.

We believe we have a Secretary ready to step in, however it is absolutely essential that we fill the remaining vacancies:

  • Treasurer
  • VP of Fundraising (a critical role we have missed greatly over the last 18 months)

Please consider putting your hand up. Even a small amount of your time can make a massive difference to the team and our school. I'm always happy to chat about the positions if you have any questions!

Reflecting on a Period of Transition

The past two and a half years has been a time of major transition for our P&C. Navigating a thorough operational review required an enormous amount of behind-the-scenes hard work, problem-solving, and dedication.

While it wasn't always an easy road, by confronting these challenges head-on and tightening our operations, I know with absolute certainty that we have left the P&C in a much stronger, more secure, and better position for the incoming executive.

Final Thoughts

The primary goal of the Ironside P&C Association has always been to work in productive partnership with the principal and school community to promote the school's interests, facilitate its ongoing development, and achieve the best possible outcomes for our students.

Looking back at what we have achieved together over the 2024 - 2026 period, I am incredibly proud of how this mission came to life through our shared commitment to collaboration, connection, and action.

Over this period, the P&C organised community events, including the Spring Fair, International Breakfasts, Mother’s and Father’s Day events, and election BBQs alongside directly funding school resources such as Writer's Toolbox, library books, musical instruments, water bubblers, prep playground equipment, playground shade sail, and an oval seated area.

Thank you all for your support during our time on the committee, and let's give Mitchell and Kirstin the community backing they deserve!

Warm regards,

Michael Archbold
