Foundation: Milo the Monkey's Birthday Celebration

Our Foundation students had a fantastic time celebrating Milo the Monkey's Birthday! The special celebration included dancing, sharing a plate of delicious party food, and lots of fun as students proudly showcased everything they have learned about the LLLL sounds. It was a wonderful way to recognise their hard work and growing confidence while making learning a joyful and memorable experience.

Grade 5/6 Ecosmart Incursion

Our Grade 5 and 6 students recently participated in the engaging GoodWe EcoSmart Kids incursion, where they explored renewable energy, climate change and the importance of protecting our environment through an interactive and animated workshop. The program encouraged students to think creatively about sustainable solutions while building their understanding of environmental responsibility and inspiring them to become the next generation of sustainability leaders. Following the incursion, students are excited to apply their new knowledge by participating in the EcoSmart Science Fair competition during Science Week, proudly sponsored by GoodWe.

Grade 3 Hands On Science Incursion

Our Grade 3 students recently enjoyed a fantastic Hands On Science incursion, where they explored the fascinating world of chemical sciences through a range of exciting, hands-on experiments. During the interactive workshop, students investigated solids, liquids and gases, discovering how heat and chemical reactions can cause changes between these states. From testing the melting points of different materials to creating their own lava lamps, students enthusiastically predicted, observed and reflected on each experiment, extending their understanding of the states of matter while having plenty of fun.

LPPSs Fabulous Writers

This year’s NAPLAN data indicates our students are performing exceptionally well in the area of writing with 95% of year 3 students in the strong and exceeding range and 85% of year 5 students in the strong and exceeding range.

How did we achieve these results?

In the early years, students build strong literacy foundations through our Little Learners Love Literacy program, developing the phonics, spelling and reading skills that support confident writing. Across all year levels, teachers use high-quality mentor texts to expose students to rich vocabulary, different writing styles and strong examples of effective writing.

Teachers explicitly teach writing by modelling how to create clear and interesting sentences before guiding students to plan, draft, edit and improve longer pieces of writing. Students write regularly across a range of genres and receive timely feedback to help them build their skills and confidence.

Teachers also use ongoing assessment to identify each student's next learning steps, ensuring every child is supported and challenged to achieve their best.

We are incredibly proud of our students' effort and the dedication of our staff. These outstanding results reflect our whole-school commitment to high-quality teaching and learning and helping every student become a confident writer.
