Learning Diversity

Dear Families,
If you feel that your child may need extra support or has a Disability that the school is not aware of, please contact the office and ask to speak to Sally Thomas or email me sthomas@saseaford.catholic.edu.au
Welcome Back to School
It has been a wonderful start to the term as we celebrated Alleluia day, and it has been fantastic to see students returning with such enthusiasm and positivity. Classrooms have quickly settled into productive routines, and students are engaging well with their learning and with one another.
Our staff have been closely monitoring how each student is transitioning back into school life. Where needed, adjustments are being thoughtfully implemented to support individual learning needs and ensure every student has the opportunity to succeed. We appreciate the ongoing collaboration between staff, students, and families in making these supports effective.
This term, our focus also includes preparation for the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD). Staff will be working together to gather and document evidence that reflects the adjustments provided to students. This process is an important part of ensuring that the support we offer is both appropriate and well-documented.
We encourage all families to take some time to read the information provided below to better understand the NCCD process and what it means for our school community.
Thank you for your continued support.
Allied Health Professionals in School
Thank you to the parents who have followed the requirements to have Allied Health Professionals in to school. If you have not emailed Sally Thomas regarding your intention to have Allied Health Professionals in school please do so as soon as possible.
Allied Health Professionals may continue to attend school to provide sessions. Professionals must be registered with SAMS for school visits, and new school approval forms will be issued to support Allied Health attendance.
Parents/carers are required to email the Learning Diversity Leader, Sally Thomas, to request Allied Health visits, outlining the days of the week and times required. Once this request has been received, the necessary documentation will be prepared and sent to parents for completion.
NCCD FACT SHEET FOR PARENTS
Please read the following information about the NCCD
IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING SENDING MEDICAL INFORMATION AND REPORTS
As a result of the Quality Assurance process and discussion. It is recommended that all medical documentation and reports that families are sending to staff be sent via email or in a hard copy. Please do not use the seesaw app to send medical information to school.
