Class Celebrations

Celebrating the growth in our wonderful children on each learning level...

Prep

The Preps are loving our Ready for Life sessions where they have worked in teams to build kingdoms and face challenges together. They have been fantastic at working with their teams to identify problems, listen to different solutions and pick the best one. This week, they introduced a King or Queen to their kingdoms and thought about what the new leader might do to help their community. We have been so impressed with their brilliant attitude in these sessions – well done Preps!

Year 1

Our Grade 1 students have been working incredibly hard over the past eight weeks in preparation for their very first school production, The Great Australian Roadtrip! It has been wonderful to watch their confidence grow as they have learnt, practised and prepared their fantastic dances, ‘Solid Rock’ and ‘Zoo’.

We are incredibly proud of the effort, enthusiasm and dedication each student has shown throughout our production practices. The children have been developing their listening, teamwork and performance skills while having lots of fun along the way!

We are so excited for our Grade 1 students to take to the stage on Monday night and showcase their wonderful dances.

A huge well done to our Grade 1 students. We are so proud of you! Bring on the Production!

Year 2

As part of our English unit, Year 2 students have been exploring the fascinating world of Greek Myths. This week, we read the story of Daedalus and Icarus.

Students have been learning how to write a summary by identifying the main character, setting, problem, plan and ending. They have also been developing their paragraph writing skills, learning about the different parts of a paragraph, including a topic sentence, supporting details and a concluding sentence.

We have been so impressed with the students' writing and the way they are developing and organising their ideas.

Have a look at some of their fantastic work!

Year 3

Our Year 3 students had an incredible time on their very first camp! From frisbee golf through to aiming for a bullseye in archery, every activity brought both challenge and joy.

Students showed their skills in parkour and embraced the thrill of the giant swing, cheering each other on every step of the way.

It was wonderful to see so many examples of persistence, resilience, and teamwork as students pushed themselves to try new experiences. We are so proud of the way they embraced camp life with such energy, positivity, and determination.

Year 4

Year 4 students had a fantastic time visiting Sea Life Aquarium last week. During our visit, students explored a range of ocean animals and learned about their physical and behavioural adaptations. They enjoyed seeing animals including green sea turtles, a variety of sharks, seahorses and sea dragons, dory fish and one enormous salt water crocodile which weighs more than 400kg.

We are so proud of the enthusiasm, curiosity and responsible behaviour our Year 4 students demonstrated throughout the excursion. Thank you as well to the parent volunteers who joined us on the day, as well as the many more who offered to support.

Year 5

Our Year 5 students have shown fantastic responsibility throughout our electricity unit! They have taken great care when using our electrical resources, ensuring equipment is used safely and respectfully and returned neatly to its appropriate place after each investigation. It has also been wonderful to see how effectively students have worked with their partners, sharing ideas, communicating, solving problems and supporting one another throughout their hands-on learning. Their teamwork and responsibility have made our electricity investigations a real success!

Year 6

Last week, Year 6 students travelled by tram to IMAX and Melbourne Museum. There, they watched the movie Extreme Weather to support their learning of Extreme Australian Weather in Humanities. They also visitied a number of exhibits at the Melbourne Museum and got to check out the massive playground nearby during play time. Well done Year 6 for representing our school so well!
