Whole School Reminders

Production Videos 

  • The Production dances have been uploaded to Seesaw (For Prep, Year 1 and Year 2) if families would like to practise them at home before Monday!
  • All families can access them via the latest Compass Newsfeed too.

Prep

Reminders:

Toys at school

Please do not allow your child to bring toys or items from home. These can become a distraction to learning and students become upset if they are lost or damaged. We would greatly appreciate if you ensured your child leaves toys, including pokemon cards, at home.

 

Homework Expectations

  • Mathseeds: 1 lesson per week (a new week begins on Sunday)
  • Reading: 4 nights per week
  • Diaries: Please ensure diaries are filled in and brought to school every Friday

Year 1

Reminders:

Charged iPads

Please support your child to bring a fully charged device to school each day. There has been an increase in the number of students with uncharged devices each day. Thank you for your support with this. 

 

Homework Expectations

  • Mathseeds: 1 lesson per week (a new week begins on Sunday)
  • Reading: 15 minutes, 4 nights per week
  • Diaries: Please ensure diaries are brought to school every day

Year 2

Charged ipads

Please support your child to bring a fully charged device to school each day. This ensures they are remaining on track with important learning activities. 


Year 3

Reminders:

Homework Expectations

Students are expected to achieve between 200-1000 points on Mathletics each week. It is recommended for this to be completed by Wednesday. 

 

In addition to this, students are expected to complete 20 minutes of independent reading. Each entry must be signed. Students are to bring their diaries every day and place them on their name tags. Their diaries will be checked on a Monday morning.


Year 4

Reminders:

Homework Expectations

Students are expected to achieve between 200-1000 points on Mathletics each week. It is recommended for this to be completed on a Monday or Tuesday.

In addition to this, students are expected to complete 30 minutes of independent reading per day. Students know to bring their diaries every day. Teachers will monitor diaries daily and reach out to parents should we need your support with this homework. 

 

Library

All classes visit the library on a Tuesday. Please ensure your child brings their book bag each week to allow the opportunity to borrow. Books can be kept for up to two weeks if they need longer to finish reading. Students will be able to borrow over the holidays.

Camp

Please ensure you have given consent on Compass if you would like your child to attend this year's Year 5/6 Camp. Payment is due October 23rd. Camp is from Wednesday 4 November to Friday 6 November at YMCA Lady Northcote.

Year 6 teachers are working with students to support independence with completing homework to help prepare for expectations in secondary school. Please support your child by helping them to follow a routine at home to complete their reading homework each night and Mathletics homework once a week.
