From the Acting Principal

House Cross Country

Well done to all of our Grade 3-6 students who participated in last week’s House Cross Country. It was a wonderful morning, and you should all be proud of the determination and resilience you showed to complete the course. Congratulations to Waratah for being this year’s overall winner and to the children who will represent Parkdale PS at next terms District Cross Country. Thanks to Mr Anderson, our teaching staff and the parent volunteers who helped make the event run smoothly.

Congratulations

Well Done to Aidan B for representing Parkdale PS as part of the Victorian Aquathlon team last week. Aidan competed at the National Competition in Runaway Bay Queensland. Aquathlon is a sport that combines swimming and running and Aidan competed in a range of individual distance races and team competitions across the week. Congratulations on all of your achievements.

NAPLAN

Our Grade 3 and 5 students should be proud on the completion of their NAPLAN assessments over the last two weeks. You approached each different assessment with persistence and gave your best effort. Results will become available later in the year for both individuals and also for our school.

Harmony Day

Harmony Day is the celebration that recognises our diversity and brings together Australians from all different backgrounds. It’s about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone. It was great to see a touch of orange across the school to bring our community even closer together. Thanks to our Japanese Captains, Mami Sensei and Mackenzie Sensei for all their work in putting together the day.

End of Term

A reminder that the last day of Term 1 is on Thursday 2nd April. Our end of term Assembly will commence at 2pm with dismissal from classrooms at 2:30pm. The first day of Term 2 is Monday 20th April. We hope you all have a safe and happy holiday break and we look forward to seeing everyone back in a few weeks.

Kind regards

Jarrod Bainbridge
