Health & PE

This week in Health and PE we revisited the body’s response to physical activity and continued looking at ways to maximise our health, including sun safety and moving safely in different environments.
Our Grade 5/6 students continued to focus on AFL skill development. They enjoyed the opportunity to build their own skills and apply them in a mini AFL match, following the superkick rules of tagging (no tackling) and teamwork. Lots of fun was had and it was so great to observe students who don’t play AFL trying out something new, working as a team and enjoying themselves! We will continue this focus next week.
Grade 2-4 students engaged in some AFL skills, tabloid sports games and ball handling skills. The class particularly enjoyed the goal kicking game we learnt last week at our AFL clinic! Some wonderful skills emerging!
Grade F/1 students continued building their confidence in applying their fundamental motor skills of throwing, catching and running through a range of skill drills, activities and games this week. Our tunnel ball team work is really growing and learning Dr Dodgeball this week was lots of fun!
All grades this week also focused on their running skills, from F/1 students focusing on form and movement to our senior students focusing on building endurance as they begin training for the cross country event next term.
All grades will finish the term with a fun end of term games session. Well done to each grade for passing 5 stickers on their chart, resulting in this end of term reward!
