Principal's Message

Dear Community,

It has been another eventful week and one where I have paused and been so grateful for the student, staff and family community here at St Mary's. The gratitude has come from seeing the resilience and perseverance of our Grades 3 and 5 students working through their NAPLAN assessments with care and effort, for our staff being extremely flexible and supporting each other and for our families friendliness and kindness, including our fantastic parents Charlotte, Anna and Clare for their amazing work putting together our special lunch on Wednesday which was absolutely delicious! I'd also like to acknowledge the efforts and work of the Parents and Friends Committee who has worked tirelessly and endlessly to ensure our St Mary's School Fair is a success.

I think this is what really sets us apart - how tight-knit the community is and how everyone looks out for each other and truly goes above and beyond. Our size really is a strength at St Mary's. What a fantastic place to be!

Today, our Faith and Social Justice leadership team ventured in to Melbourne by train to attend a special Mass to celebrate Catholic Education Week. They represented our school beautifully. Thank you to Julie Z and Barb who accompanied Amaya and Astarte on the journey in to Melbourne.

Looking forward to Week 9, we have another fun week ahead! A reminder that we have a walking excursion to the Castlemaine State Festival on Monday 23rd March. Details are outline in our SIMON permission form. We have our PSG meetings on Tuesday 24th and Wednesday 25th - families needing to attending have been contacted and booked in for these meetings. We also have our Grades 3-6 District School Sports on Friday 27th as well as the long awaited St Mary's School Fair at 4pm - 7pm on Friday evening! There is definitely so much to look forward to.

Have a lovely weekend,

Shannon Betham
