Year 10 Morrisby Assessment

On Tuesday 24 March, our Year 10 students will participate in the Morrisby assessment, marking an important milestone in their journey toward future pathways and career planning. The assessment process encourages students to reflect on their individual strengths, interests, and preferences, while also introducing them to a wide range of potential careers and educational opportunities. Through a combination of aptitude testing and personal profiling, students will gain valuable insights into how their abilities align with different industries and roles. In the coming weeks, students will have the opportunity to explore their personalised Morrisby profile in greater depth, helping them make informed decisions about subject selections for Years 11 and 12, as well as longer-term goals beyond school.

Morrisby Student & Parent Information session

Save the Date: Tuesday 31 March, 5.30-6.30pm

At this information session, students will be able to access their profile and with their parents learn how to interpret their Morrisby profile report. We encourage all Year 10 families to attend this session.

Students who miss in-class assessment tasks are reminded that catch-up sessions run from 3.00-4.00pm on Mondays and 3.45-4.45pm on Thursdays. Your teacher and/or tutor will let you know of expectations.

Uniform Reminder

Families are reminded that students are required to wear their Friends’ uniform each day. There are multiple options for both formal and sports uniform. It is important to be aware that non-uniform shorts, including blue branded or non-branded shorts, are not part of the uniform and students who arrive in these will be provided with uniform items to change into.

SMITH FAMILY - Student2Student Reading Program 2026

The student2student program works by matching students who need to improve their reading with peer buddies who help and encourage them with their reading. Peer support is central to the program’s success. Each student and buddy read two to three times a week for at least 20 minutes, over an 18 week period. The Student2Student digital model enables students to connect using a website called Chatty Kids. Students read eBooks provided on the site and use the Voice over IP function to speak to their buddy.

The key dates for recruitment and training of students in Years 7-12 as reading buddies for Student2Student are below. Please note Phase 1 is for Years 11/12 students as it concludes in Term 3 to allow for external examinations in Term 4.
