From the Principal
Dear Parents and Carers,
I hope you've had an enjoyable week. We have certainly noticed this week an increased numbers of students and staff coming down with the flu and other bugs. Influenza A and B has been going around. Can I please ask that you remind your children about general hygiene practices and if they are unwell it is best that they stay home from school to recover and prevent the spread.
Next Monday afternoon is our final assembly of Term 2 and we would love to see more parents in attendance. Every time we go to assembly our students are really demonstrating their engagement and ability to follow our strict protocols about being active and respectful listeners. Each week the students sing the school song and national anthem and it is beautiful to hear their angelic voices!
Tomorrow is the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and we will come together as a school to celebrate mass mass at 9.15am. Parents are very welcome to join us!
A gentle reminder to parents joining us that it is not appropriate church protocol to come to church with food or drinks (such as coffees).
Next term we are excited to be introducing a significant amount of new literacy resources across the school!
Our fabulous Parent Association have made a very generous donation to refresh our home reading supplies and we also have OCHRE literacy resources being introduced into the Junior School.
Our students are very lucky to have such language rich resources at their disposal and your support of our PA fundraising events throughout the year have enabled this so thankyou!
First Eucharist Commitment Masses
Families of students making their First Eucharist this year are expected to attend one of the two Mass options (Saturday 28th June 5:30pm OR Sunday 29th June 11:00am) with their child to demonstrate their commitment and preparation for making the Sacrament in the St Bede’s Parish. Students will be presented with a commitment prayer in the week leading up to these Masses. Students have been given these prayers.
Parent -Teacher Interviews
Please note our Parent Teacher Interviews are in the last week of this term and students finish school on Thursday the 3rd of July at 3.15pm. Please remember to book your interviews times this week!
Academic Competitions
Parents please note. Entries for all academic competitions this year close on the last Tuesday of this term (Tuesday 1st of July). Late entries will not be accepted.
Morning arrivals
Just a reminder that the gates open at 8.20am of a morning and children are directed out to the back playground for a play (where there is a staff member on duty) until teachers open their classroom doors at 8.30am.
Running Club
As the weather gets a bit colder and wetter, we still encourage as many students to join us at our running club. It makes for a fantastic way to begin the school day. Our running club will continue on Friday mornings 8am at Myrtle Park. Please email Mr Price if you need any further details. NOTE: an email will be sent out in the event running club is cancelled due to the weather.
PREP Enrolments - the time to enrol is now!
Prep enrolments are continuing to come in and we are currently organising enrolment interviews.
If you know of someone who is yet to enrol their child please encourage them to do so ASAP.
Assemblies
We would love more parents to come along and enjoy our school assemblies with us! A reminder, they are now held on a Monday afternoon at 2.30pm in the school hall. The last assembly for this term is on Monday the 30th of June at 2.30pm.
