The Letter

During worship this week, we shared a skit called “The Letter.” A mysterious envelope arrived labelled simply: “To: YOU.” Inside was a Bible - reminding us that Scripture is not just an old book, but God’s love letter to each of us.

Part of that letter acts like a mirror. God’s Word shows us the truth about ourselves. We see the times we are unkind, impatient, selfish, or make wrong choices.

As Romans reminds us, “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” That can feel uncomfortable - but it is not the end of the story.

The same letter also brings wonderful good news. While we were still sinners, Jesus Christ died for us. The cross stands as God’s signature at the bottom of His letter: Paid in full. Forgiven. You are mine.

Nothing - not mistakes, not fear, not even death - can separate us from the love of Jesus.

This week, may you remember: the Bible is God’s love letter… and it is written to YOU.
