Message from the Principal
Mrs Bronwyn Underwood
Dear Parents and Carers,
This week, I attended the Catholic Schools NSW Principal Conference. The conference is held bi-annually and draws Principals from the eleven Dioceses across the state, including the Armidale Diocese. It's always wonderful to catch up with current and former colleagues and discuss the trials and tribulations of contemporary education and leadership.
Last week, we welcomed Mrs Hanri Crafford to our team at St Michael's. Hanri and her family have settled in Manilla and Hanri will be the teacher of our K/1 class in the coming weeks. Hanri is awaiting NESA to finalise her accreditation, and in the meantime has been working with the students and getting to know them to ensure a smooth transition. Welcome Hanri and we hope you enjoy your time with us. A welcome event for Hanri and her family will be held in coming weeks.
This week, we welcomed two new Aboriginal Education Workers to St Michael's. Renae Catlett and Ashlen Rae have joined our team and are job sharing until the end of the Term. We look forward to working with both ladies as they assist all children to improve their literacy, numeracy and cultural knowledge.
Armidale Catholic Schools launched the new website for St Michael's late last week. Please take the time to visit the site when you can. https://stmichaelsmanilla.catholic.edu.au/
Moving forward, our preferred methods of communication will continue to be the COMPASS App and our school Facebook page. Newsletters will continue to be distributed fortnightly and can be accessed through the App or website.
Next Saturday night, our P&F Association is hosting a Dinner at school, in the Library. We are looking forward to an enjoyable evening of fine dining and music. Thank you to our P&F Committee for organising such a wonderful event. Thank you also to Bron Newton for organising the sale of tickets.
Enjoy a fabulous weekend,
Bronwyn
