Number – This term, students will continue building their understanding of fractions and how they connect to decimals and percentages. They’ll explore equivalent and improper fractions, as well as practise comparing and ordering them. Students will also learn how to add and subtract fractions, including those with different denominators, and apply this knowledge to solve real-life problems.
Space – In Space, students will explore 3D shapes and how they can be created from nets. They’ll also learn how to use grid coordinates to describe where things are and how they move. Along the way, students will experiment with flipping, sliding and turning shapes, helping them understand transformations and recognise symmetry in different contexts.
Measurement – This term, students will investigate angles and where we see them in everyday life. They’ll learn how to identify, compare and measure angles using tools like protractors. Students will also explore mass by weighing and comparing objects, and look at capacity by measuring how much different containers can hold.
