Term 3 Parent/Teacher Interviews

We will be holding online Parent/Teacher interviews on Friday, 11th September. Offering interviews online allows us to cater for the needs of all parents and carers, and ensures everyone can connect with teachers in a way that is flexible and accessible. Bookings will be released on Compass closer to the date, so please keep an eye out for further information.

Parents and carers are also reminded that you don’t need to wait until interview day if you have a question or concern about your child’s learning. You are always welcome to contact your child’s teacher directly by email to arrange a suitable time for a phone call or meeting.

Australian Mathematics Competition

Students in Years 3-6 who are working above the expected level in Mathematics had an exciting opportunity this week to take part in the Australian Mathematics Competition, which is the first time our College has offered this challenge. The competition is designed to stretch our high-achieving mathematicians by testing their problem‑solving, logical reasoning, and application of mathematical concepts in unfamiliar contexts. It encourages students to think creatively, persevere through complex questions, and apply their skills well beyond routine classroom tasks. Well done to the students who took on this challenge.

House Performing Arts

The excitement is building as House Performing Arts rehearsals are now in full swing! Our students have been busy working collaboratively within their House teams, developing creative ideas and bringing their performances to life in preparation for this year's showcase.

This year's theme, "Together on the Field," celebrates teamwork, sport, and the spirit of coming together through performance. Across the Primary Years, students are embracing the theme in unique and imaginative ways. Stynes House has invited students to sign up for their favourite sport, with performances set to feature sporting themes such as basketball, soccer, and more. Their energetic dance routines promise to showcase the diversity of sports and the teamwork that underpins them.

Meanwhile, McGrath House is diving headfirst into the world of swimming! Led by their House Captains, students are creating a performance inspired by elegant classical music, combining creativity, precision, and plenty of house spirit. We're sure their efforts will make quite a splash on the night! Students can also look forward to hearing some iconic sporting anthems woven throughout the performances, with crowd favourites including Eye of the Tiger, Thunderstruck, and We Will Rock You helping to bring the energy and excitement of the sporting arena to the stage.

It has been wonderful to see students working together, supporting one another, and embracing the House spirit as they prepare for what promises to be an entertaining and memorable celebration of creativity, collaboration, and community.

Bullying No Way Week 2026

Bullying No Way Week, beginning 17 August and led by Chang House, forms an important part of our ongoing Bullying Prevention work at the College. Throughout the week, students from Prep to Year 6 will participate in age-appropriate learning experiences designed to build their understanding of bullying and empower them to contribute to a safe and respectful College community.

Students will learn about what bullying is, the different types of bullying, and explore examples of unkind behaviours that may occur at their year level. Through discussions, activities, and classroom learning, students will develop strategies to respond appropriately, support others, and become upstanders by speaking up, seeking help, and showing kindness in their everyday interactions.

As a College community, it is important that we have a shared understanding of what bullying is and what it is not. Bullying is an ongoing and deliberate misuse of power in relationships through repeated verbal, physical and/or social behaviour that intends to cause physical, social and/or psychological harm. It can occur in person or online and may be obvious (overt) or hidden (covert). Bullying involves an imbalance of power and has the potential to cause significant harm to those involved, including bystanders. It is important to note that single incidents, disagreements, or conflicts between people of equal power are not classified as bullying.

During the week, students will learn about the different forms of bullying, including:

  • Cyber: using technology or digital platforms to hurt, threaten, or exclude others.
  • Social: deliberately damaging someone's relationships, reputation, or sense of belonging.
  • Physical: hurting a person or their belongings through physical actions.
  • Written: harmful messages, notes, drawings, or online communication.
  • Racial: targeting someone because of their race, culture, ethnicity, or background.

The week will also feature a range of lunchtime activities led by Chang House, providing students with opportunities to connect, have fun, and promote the message that everyone belongs and deserves to feel safe at school.

By working together as families, students, and staff, we can continue to foster a culture of kindness, respect, and inclusion where every student feels safe, valued, and supported.
