The Pantry Platter

Quick, Healthy Dinners for Busy Families: The "Pantry Platter"

Ever find yourself staring into the fridge at 6pm wondering what's for dinner? You're definitely not alone! The Pantry Platter is a clever idea from the National Nutrition Foundation — designed for those nights when time (and energy!) is short.

How it works

  • Choose a protein — eggs, beans, lentils, tuna, or cheese.
  • Add some colour — chopped salad veg, cherry tomatoes, corn, or beetroot.
  • Include a wholegrain — wholemeal crackers, pita bread, or quick-cook rice.
  • Finish with some fruit on the side.

Kids love the freedom of building their own plates, and parents love how quick it is — dinner ready in under 10 minutes!

Healthy meals don’t need to be fancy — just balanced, colourful, and kind to yourself.
